Abstract River Series
The inspiration for these pieces came from a peak experience in December 2006 where I showed a new friend the beauty of the Bogue Chitto River. The day was warm enough to wade, at Christmastime! and I stood in the river, knee high, watching the golden waters flow around my legs. The sun went in and out of the clouds, glinting off the sand and rocks and debris on the bottom, making beautiful swirls and highlights. A hawk circled overhead, closer and closer and I stood still and looked him in the eye. I felt the cold water moving over my legs and feet, washing away all worry and sadness. If I could capture that feeling of being one with the world, in humble awe of God's creation, the beauty of the many layers......
